Day 1: Arrival in Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Meet your mountain guide for a full briefing, gear check, and pre-climb preparation.

Day 2: Moshi – Londorossi Gate – Shira Camp 1 (3,600m)

After breakfast, drive to the Londorossi Gate (2,250m) for registration, then continue by vehicle to the trailhead on the Shira Plateau. Begin your trek through moorland fields with stunning views of Mount Meru before reaching Shira Camp 1.

Day 3: Shira Camp 1 – Shira Camp 2 (3,850m)

A gentle hike across the plateau takes you to Shira Camp 2, situated near a stream with breathtaking views of Kibo Peak. You’ll explore Shira Cathedral, a massive rock formation rising from the plateau.

Day 4: Shira Camp 2 – Lava Tower (4,600m) – Barranco Camp (3,950m)

Ascend gradually toward Lava Tower (“Shark’s Tooth”) before descending to Barranco Camp. This day helps your body acclimatize to high altitude while offering scenic contrasts between desert landscapes and lush valleys.

Day 5: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp (3,995m)

After breakfast, conquer the famous Barranco Wall, an exciting climb that rewards you with amazing views from the top. Trek across rolling ridges and valleys to Karanga Camp, perfectly placed for rest and acclimatization.

Day 6: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp (4,673m)

Today’s trek leads you through alpine desert terrain to Barafu Camp, your base for the summit attempt. Get an early dinner and rest as you prepare for the midnight climb to the Roof of Africa.

Day 7: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Mweka Camp (3,100m)

Begin your ascent around midnight. Trek through the dark with headlamps as you climb past Stella Point (5,756m) to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Celebrate your achievement, then descend to Mweka Camp for a well-earned rest.
